Trust The Teens: Travel Like A Local

Marriott Hotels & Resorts Australia is set to revolutionise travel for teens and their families with the launch of  ‘This City My Way’; the world’s first digitally led peer-to-peer Teen Concierge program.

Too young to travel alone, too old for the kids club, the teen market is often neglected. Yet they often have the power to turn the family holiday upside down if they are dissatisfied with the travel plans. The Marriott Teen Concierge team are here to lend a hand to this forgotten demographic with ‘This City My Way’, which aims to help teen guests have an instantly more enjoyable holiday.

Five Aussie teens from Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast and Brisbane have been appointed to share their locals-only insights with other young visitors to their city.

Each Concierge will create original travel content and curate the best of social media, which will appear on a real-time City Guide with a local edge, found at

Marriott in Australia is believed to be the world’s first brand to use popular social media platform Kik. For the teens who prefer to communicate over Kik, there will be tailored advice through the site’s one-on-one chat format. The Teen Concierges will also be available during the school holidays to answer questions and provide recommendations, launching in September.

An instagram profile dedicated to ‘The City My Way’ will also draw teen-friendly recommendations from all cities, with a promotion where users could win a night at a Marriott or Courtyard by Marriott Hotel by sharing their tip with the #ThisCityMyWay hashtag.
