Australian Customs and Border Protection Service (ACBPS) signs an Agreement to recognize Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Accepted Safe Skies® Luggage Locks, travellers worldwide will benefit.

Worldwide travel lock brand Safe Skies® has announced it has signed an exclusive agreement with the ACBPS. Safe Skies® luggage locks are now recognized by ACBPS throughout Australia, allowing passengers using Safe Skies luggage locks to secure their luggage and feel confident their belongings remain secure, even if ACBPS officers require access for inspection.

Safe Skies founder David Tropp said: “The large number of Australian traveller’s entering the UK and USA, as well as vice versa, can now travel with one less worry. Unifying a standard across security agencies ensures a traveller can secure their belongings in one location and peacefully travel, worldwide with one less concern.” Safe Skies locks have been sold in Australia for the past 7 years, and customers that previously purchased locks with Safe Skies patented technology will enjoy the same added security benefits.

Safe Skies technology is protected by US patents 7,021,537, 7,036,728 and 8,145,576, as well as, Australian patents 2009238233 and 2004289946.

ACBPS officers are sometimes required to examine baggage without a passenger present.  This agreement with Safe Skies®, will mean that ACBPS now has the ability, in specific circumstances, to open, examine and re-secure baggage without damaging baggage locks.

All Safe Skies locks are accepted by both the United States Transportation Security Administration and Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs of the United Kingdom. Recently Safe Skies announced an agreement with the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority. Each lock comes with a lifetime warranty and a hassle-free replacement policy in case it is clipped by mistake.  Within Australia and New Zealand, Safe Skies locks are exclusively distributed by Safe Skies (Australia) SafeSkies.com.au.
