TUVE has been awarded the prestigious G Mark in Good Design Award and the Design Mark of 2016 Golden Pin Design Award. Previously honoured by more than 30 international design awards, including FX Interior Design Awards and Asia Pacific Interior Design Awards, TUVE now adds these 2 prestigious accolades to its list of achievements in the design sector in its first year of operation.
The Good Design Award, also known as G Mark System, is the leading design award hosted by the Japan Institute for Design Promotion. With more than 60 years of history, the award picks good design out of a wide range of fields, such as home appliances, industrial goods, houses and architecture, etc. This year, more than 4,000 entries are received from 43 countries and regions, and only 13 of the awarded entries are from Hong Kong.
The Golden Pin Design Award is the longest-running design award that celebrates products expressly created for the Chinese-speaking market. Individuals or companies that are selling, manufacturing, or designing products or projects in a Chinese-speaking country or region are eligible to submit nominations. This year, the award receives 3,005 nominations globally which marks the highest number of entries ever.
“We are very honoured and thrilled to have won the 2 leading design awards in Japan and Taiwan, especially during the first anniversary of TUVE. Winning the accolades recognises the influence of the design concept of TUVE in the hospitality industry. We are thankful to have Design System Limited bringing the owner’s design concept to life so perfectly so as to differentiate this boutique hotel by rarity. With the awarded design, we will continue to pour our heart into providing great service that complements TUVE’s status as an iconic landmark in the neighbourhood, as well as in Hong Kong.” says Managing Director, Pauline Tsang.
TUVE, designed by Design System Limited, underlines minimalist and timeless design and sensibilities for guests looking for an alternative accommodation. The hotel stimulates creativity with its unique design that balances the raw purity of materials such as marble, wood grain and brass against the unexpected beauty of oxidised metal and concrete. As a space where the harmony of quietude is paramount to every stay, bespoke, quality service is the soul and centre-piece of the 66-room accommodation.
