Sydney’s newest luxury hotel, InterContinental Sydney Double Bay has won two major hospitality and tourism industry accolades, recognising its outstanding bar and function venues, at this year’s Tourism Accommodation Australia (TAA) NSW Awards for Excellence.
In its first year of operations, the hotel has been named as Function Venue of the Year and Highly Commended for Bar of the Year for its Stillery cocktail bar and lounge. The new hotel was also recognised as a finalist in the prestigious Sydney Deluxe Hotel of the Year category.
InterContinental Sydney Double Bay’s General Manager Paul Walters was thrilled at the new hotel’s awards success, after opening in November 2014.
“We are very proud to see InterContinental Sydney Double Bay recognised as the leading events venue in Sydney and across the State, and Stillery as Highly Commended in the hotly contested category for Bar of the Year,” he said.
“We pride ourselves on providing unique, tailored experiences to guests, with our beautifully-appointed guest rooms, collection of versatile events spaces, restaurant and bar with best-in-class cuisine and cocktails, stunning bayside location and superb service from our committed hotel team.”
The only five-star hotel outside the CBD, InterContinental Sydney Double Bay is a stylish 140-room retreat in Double Bay village in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, just 200m from the beach and 14km from Sydney International Airport.
Features include the stunning Rooftop Pool & Lounge overlooking the bay, Stockroom restaurant and grill, Stillery bar and lounge, a French provincial-style Courtyard and Club InterContinental lounge, with luxury Trumps Spa and 24-hour Snap Fitness gym in its ground floor arcade.
