Two new Haag-Lloyd expedition ships in 2019

March 11, 2017 Cruise No Comments Email Email

Upmarket expedition cruising is booming in popularity. According to Karl J. Pojer, CEO of Haag-Lloyd Cruises, the potential in the expedition ship segment is more than three times bigger than current supply. Haag-Lloyd will satisfy some of the demand by launching two new state-of-the-art vessels in 2019 – HANSEATIC nature and HANSEATIC inspiration. Aimed directly at the 5 star market, they will accommodate 230 people over seven passenger decks.
Passengers on the all-round deck in the forecastle will experience the action at very close quarters – closer even than the captain on journeys to the Arctic, Antarctic or Amazon. There will also be two extendible glass balconies designed to give passengers the sensation of floating over the ocean.

Sixteen  on-board Zodiacs and E-Zodiacs with eco-friendly electric drive systems will allow for landings in remote expedition areas, regardless of the vicinity to a port. The state of the art ships ill also have a marina for water sports.
