Two new Scenic Space-Ships set sail in Europe

May 13, 2014 River Cruising No Comments Email Email

Due to a huge increase in demand for luxury Europe River Cruising, Scenic Tours has expanded their fleet, bringing their world-class fleet of Scenic ‘Space-Ships’ to nine. Two new ships made their inaugural sailings this month along the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers.
The Scenic Jade will be operating on the Scenic Tours flagship itinerary only, the 15 Day Jewels of Europe River Cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest and from Budapest to Amsterdam with city extensions to Paris and Prague. The Scenic Gem, currently sailing the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers, will be relocating to France in July where she will begin the 11 Day Gems of the Seine River Cruise – a new itinerary for 2014 that will exclusively sail a round trip from Paris to Honfleur.

Highlights include Conflans and Château-de-Champlâtreux; Giverny – the home of Monet; Richard the Lionheart’s castle ruin in Les Andelys; the ‘City of a Hundred Spires’, Rouen; the Somme battlefields and visits to Caudebec-en-Caux and the Normandy beaches.

The Scenic Gem is custom-built to sail to the port commune of Honfleur and the tidal stretch of river between Rouen.

Thanks to a special design and the latest cutting-edge technologies, the ship is certified to navigate further along the Seine than any other river cruise ship meaning Scenic Tours is the only operator to offer this customised cruising itinerary. With the same space ratio as the other Scenic ‘Space-Ships’ but for just 126 guests, the Scenic Gem will be the most spacious river cruiser on the Seine.

Both ships deliver the same all-inclusive luxury experience synonymous with the new fleet of Scenic ‘Space-Ships’ from private butler service and unlimited complimentary beverages including mini-bar re-stocked daily to full size private balcony suites with exclusive Scenic ‘Sun Lounges’. On board cuisine includes the French tradition of dégustation at Table La Rive with boutique wines from some of Europe’s best wineries.

The only 100 per cent Australian owned and operated river cruise line operating in Europe, Scenic Tours has the newest fleet of ships to sail the European rivers with a further two currently being built to sail the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers in 2015. The Scenic Opal and Scenic Jasper, will join the fleet as the next generation of river cruisers bringing the total to 12 – including boutique small ship, Scenic Tsar, which exclusively sails in Russia. Both ships will boast the largest suites on the rivers with the ultimate in private balcony accommodation – the 44m2 Royal Panorama Suites, and a new vitality pool for guests to enjoy on the Sun Deck.
