Australia’s wildest and most gruelling boat race has gone up in lights, as Up the Creek – The Story of Red Bull Dinghy Derby is now live on Red Bull TV. Combining the high-octane action of possibly the most Australian race in existence, with a behind the scenes look at this iconic event, Up the Creek shows just what it takes to become a Red Bull Dinghy Derby hero.
Viewers can now witness the action-packed 90km river race in all its glory, as the documentary introduces viewers to the Dinghy Derby subculture of Australia. The race, which sees the best dinghy drivers from across the country hit the water with their souped-up dinghies, is the centrepiece of this quirky documentary that also profiles the daredevil competitors and showcases the lengths these unlikely sports stars go to in an attempt to win the coveted title.
The annual event sees competitors manoeuvre souped-up dinghies through a 90km+ course along the Murray River. This is not an easy feat, with narrow creeks, logs, tree stumps and other high-speed boats posing a challenge, keeping the 60 boats and 120 competitors hot on their toes for the duration of the race.
This unique story also profiles the daredevil competitors and showcases the lengths these unlikely sports stars go to in an attempt to win the coveted title.
