egtmedia59After a successful event in 2013, the Sydney NRMA 500, the grand finale in the V8 Supercars Championship circuit, is set to rip through the streets of Sydney Olympic Park once again this December.

With the race taking place over three days, 5-7 December inclusive, the Sydney NRMA 500 will see the superstars of Aussie motorsport battle it out for the overall victory of the year.

NSW Deputy Premier and Minister for Tourism and Major Events Andrew Stoner said he looked forward to once again welcoming spectators from across Australia and the globe to the Sydney 500, with visitation providing a welcome boost to local businesses and the NSW economy.

“The NSW Government is proud to support the return of the Sydney 500 this year, having secured the event for Sydney until 2016 through our tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW,” Stoner said.

“The Sydney 500 rounds out a massive V8 Supercars season in Sydney and NSW this year, which kicked off with the free V8 Supercars Test Day, and most recently featured the Sydney Motorsport Park 400, also secured by the NSW Government.

“I encourage fans and families looking for a weekend of high-octane entertainment to secure their tickets now and start planning their visit to Sydney Olympic Park this December,” he said.

As the naming rights sponsor of the event, NRMA will give its members exclusive access to a multi-level chill-out zone to beat the December heat. The zone will feature a semi-trailer sized screen to watch the race, misting fans, interactive activities for the whole family and prize giveaways. NRMA members will also get discounted tickets through NRMA Tix.

The Family Zone will offer plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained off the track. The Disney Fun Zone will also return trackside with a life-size replica of Mack the Transporter and Lightning McQueen from the hit film, Cars. A new edition at this year’s event will be the Big Top providing a shaded retreat to relax and enjoy refreshments.

Fans can also visit Merchandise Alley to stock up on their favourite Team’s merchandise and V8 Supercars gear. Stunt team vehicles will also be on display as part of the trackside Auto Show.

Trackside tickets start from AUD 30 plus booking fee, with Grandstand tickets starting from AUD 280 plus booking fee.

For those unable to attend the event, Channel 7 will broadcast all of the action straight into Aussie homes and almost every country in the world so you won’t miss a moment of the race.
