Arriving into Port Vila’s airport terminal you know you are in Vanuatu when a genuine local band greets with lovely harmonious tones.
Even the Vanuatu immigration guys are so friendly, teaching me how to say hello, which is “halo” in their local Bislama language.
I also asked how to say thank you, which is “tank yiu tumas” in Bislama and I practiced it all through the trip and I found that the Ni Vanuatu people always smile when you at least try to say something in their language not matter how bad your pronunciation is.
Moving, on the bags arrived quickly and after passing through customs, and past all the ground operator and hotels counters I reached Evergreen Tours and their friendly team with a real Vanuatu welcome!
Evergreen Tours have been providing airport transfers and tours all over Vanuatu for over 15 years and the staff that met me nod took me on tours, amazingly professional, friendly and always helpful.
During the hotel transfer, our Evergreen driver even pointed out the local sights and gave me tourist tips before I even had reached the hotel, with the transfer like a little mini tour from my ever smiling driver, who oozed with that famous warm Vanuatu hospitality.
On the way to Tanna the next day, our early start was not a problem as our Evergreen driver was already waiting in the hotel lobby and ready to take me to the airport for my Tanna adventure!
Evergreen Tours, who were always prompt, helpful and professional, offers a wide range of great full and half day tours including Port Vila Town Tours, Mele Cascades Tours, Waterfall Tours, Coffee Tours, Kayak Tours, Grand Efat Tours, snorkeling and may others.
More about my tours and amazing visit to Australia’s closest tropical paradise, Vanuatu’s Efate and Tanna in the coming days, so look out for my stories.
