Vanuatu’s idyllic, hidden jewel, beachside, boutique resort – Tamanu

image001Searching for that idyllic, hidden jewel, beachside, boutique resort?

Then Tamanu on the Beach, just 20 or so minutes along the coast from Port Vila in Vanuatu, I reckon is just the place.

Tucked peacefully away on Vanuatu’s only oceanfront white beach, fringed by an untouched reef, with fresh ocean breezes, Tamanu on the Beach nestles quietly in its 5 acres of lush tropical gardens, with its 6 classic white cottages redolent of when the French ruled Vanuatu, reflecting the island’s French colonial past.

image002At Tamanu there are no concrete towers, no perfectly manicured lawns, no perfectly symmetrical gardens, with except for the superb bungalows and restaurant, which serves gourmet meals, with fresh locally caught fish and lobster speciality, the entire resort as nature intended … this is the magic of Tamanu.

image003Named after the native Tamanu trees which flourish on the property, providing welcoming and snooze inducing shade in the hotter summer months, Tamanu oil is also well known for its miracle healing qualities which has been used by the Melanesian culture for centuries, with similarly, Tamanu on the Beach seeming to cast the same spell of extraordinary healing power over all who visit, with the magic of Tamanu healing the body and calming the senses … the perfect place to holiday, relax and rejuvenate… and in my opinion, simply just do nothing!

Don’t take my word for it though, so to hear what Diane Demetre, the joint owner of Tamanu with her husband Yianni, had to tell me about this amazing boutique resort, all you have to do is click on the video box below: –
