Clicquot called upon all budding designers from around the world to submit their concept for its next gift set, based on the Clicquot Mailbox. The original quirky yellow Clicquot Mailbox, which was available in Hong Kong earlier this year, was inspired by Madame Clicquot’s history of correspondence yet added Clicquot’s enviable innovation in packaging.

Designing her novel take on the original Clicquot Mailbox, Canadian, Eileen Ugarkovic beat off finalists from 10 countries to become the International Winner of the Veuve Clicquot Re-Creation Awards. Her creation, ‘Avion en Papier’ will be in store in Hong Kong just in time for the festive season. Inspired by Clicquot’s anchor, a symbol of hope; Eileen portrayed her personal vision of hope, freedom and ideas, which are conceived on paper, through paper birds or paper planes, flying into Madame Clicquot’s mailbox. Blue was chosen in addition to the infamous Clicquot yellow to symbolize the Champagne’s home city of Reims; and by combining these royal colours, Eileen felt that it complemented the brand’s regal status in the champagne world.
