The rise of the #UrbanOutdoors movement means that city-dwellers can now experience the best of both worlds, connecting to the open air both in urban green spaces and with micro-adventures outside the city centre.
Victorinox has always provided tools for the outdoor life, combining style, functionality and versatility. This is as true of its apparel, travel gear and watches as its iconic Swiss Army Knives. Now, for Spring/ Summer 2016, it has positively embraced adventure and adaptability, with equipment specifically geared to the urban adventurer.
The campaign takes its inspiration from some of the great cities of the world, where urban dwellers can find inspiration for outdoor adventures right on their doorstep. These could take the form of the everyday activity of escaping the hustle and bustle of the London streets for a stroll through Hyde Park, for example, or exploring the vast and beautiful nature area of Hagaparken, just outside Stockholm, for a weekend excursion.
Further reinforcing Victorinox’s international reach, to support the Spring/ Summer 2016 range it will be organising a number of micro-adventure days in cities across the globe. For each area a bespoke local map will be commissioned, showing the opportunities available both nearby and within easy reach of the city centre.
The #UrbanOutdoors life spans a number of diverse activities and, in recognition of this, the new Victorinox range brings together many items from the company’s diverse offering – from apparel to Swiss Army knives – to equip the modern man with all he requires to make a completely seamless journey from urban life to the great outdoors. Each item has been specifically designed to meet these needs and Essential Kit Bags – containing items that work especially well for specific activities – have been put together for added ease.
The Spring/Summer 2016 range takes its inspiration from the classic Victorinox Ranger Swiss Army Knife, which features more than 20 implements to call upon during your everyday adventures. The clothing collection is technical and comfortable, and includes a number of practical features to complement the #UrbanOutdoors life.
This apparel works in conjunction with Victorinox’s travel gear, which similarly acknowledges the modern lifestyle. In the #UrbanOutdoors, exercise, leisure and social life are not separate activities, and Victorinox’s Spring/Summer 2016 range allows you to combine your pastimes with ease and comfort.
The influence of the Victorinox Ranger Swiss Army Knife is referenced by the use of a vintage map print drawn by Swisstopo© – the equivalent of the Ordnance Survey – that is intended to inspire adventure and exploration. Appearing on several items of apparel in the collection, the Swisstopo© print depicts the mountainous area of central Switzerland around Ibach, the home of Victorinox.
For Spring/Summer 2016, Victorinox is leading the way into the #UrbanOutdoors for a life without limits.
