Vid shock as litre of whisky fuels roaring Russian drunk

February 1, 2017 Headline News No Comments Email Email

It took 10 passengers to restrain and subdue a roaring, bellowing Russian drunk who allegedly downed a whole litre of duty-free whisky and followed it up with complementary in-flight drinks before flipping out.

The burly Russian man is said to have become “very aggressive” after sinking a litre of whisky to pave the way for other drinks. A chef aboard the flight told the London Sun the Russian had attacked and pushed him as he waited to enter the toilet.

A video taken on the British Airways flight to Bangkok shows the moment 10 passengers grapple with the large, roaring drunk to restrain him. Their action prevented the man going on the rampage at 35,000 feet.

Eight men and two women joined the tussle, while cabin crew fetched handcuffs and straitjacket-style body straps, the Sun reported. They eventually overcame the drunk and kept him in his seat for the remaining two hours of the flight.

Armed Thai police boarded the B777 when it landed at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport and took the man away. A bottle of whisky, either empty or almost empty, was found under the man’s seat.

One passenger is reported to have contacted British Airways’ customer service to complain that cabin crew should have done more to control the passenger.
