Luxury TravelLuxury travelers today are spoiled for choice, and do you blame them? Countries have long wised up to the fact that luxury travelers are a great source of tourist dollars and catering to them yields the fattest margins to book.

However attracting these wealthy travelers is no easy feat as they not only seek the most authentic travel and pampering experience in the world, but they also want something which is unique and new, and which comes with world-class customer service.

In Asia, Vietnam is one of the countries which have taken note of this and is shaping up to be one of the most attractive and popular destinations in Asia for luxury travelers, trailing just China according to a recent survey in 2013. Experienced travelers concur with many agreeing that Vietnam easily ranks amongst the top ten luxury travel destinations in Asia. The beauty of Vietnam is that it has managed to find a way to evolve and grow its luxury tourism industry without losing its culture and heritage. As any country which have tried to strike this balance can attest to, it is quite a challenge – a challenge which Vietnam has all figured out.

The founder and CEO of Luxury Travel Ltd a leading travel agency for luxury travelers, Mr Pham Ha, concurs that wealthy travelers of today seek not only entertainment but stimulation as well, both mentally and spiritually. This is something which Vietnam can offer, with its diverse mix of tropical beaches, beautiful and stunning World Heritage Sites, dynamic cities, famous cuisine and its vivid and rugged scenery.

As part of its strategy to appeal to the luxury travel market, Vietnam is rolling out new boutique hotels, experiences and tours. As part of this drive, the government of Vietnam has also upgraded its tourism infrastructure extensively and have refurbished iconic heritage buildings such as the Sofitel Legend Metropole in Hanoi, whilst rolling out new amenities such as golf courses. All these improvements have worked together to boost the appeal of Vietnam amongst international luxury travelers.

With such a wealth of options, which hotel ranks as one of the best in Vietnam? According to Mr Pham Ha, his personal top 10 list would be the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi Hotel, La Residence Hue Hotel and Spa, Banyan Tree Lang Co, InterContiental Sun Peninsular Danang, the Nam Hai in Hoi An, the Park Hyatt Saigon Hotel, Six Senses Ninh Van Bay Nha Trang, Princess dAnnam Phan Thiet, Six Senses Con Dao and Amanoi.
