Vietnam, which is fast-emerging and a major tourist destination in Asia and perhaps the world, is focusing on India as a potential market to attract visitors to its scenic locations, culture and the treasure trove of war-time history.
“In 2008, nearly 4 million tourists visited Vietnam while in 2014 and just within six years the number had reached 8 million,” Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Chairman Nguyen Van Tuan told a delegation of Indian journalists.
Recently there has been increase in the number of tour operators and travel agents in Vietnam seek their B2B opportunities in India. They attend at some yearly trade shows such as SATTE, OTM, PTM, said Mr. Pham Ha, CEO of Luxury Travel Vietnam and mentioned that we have a good portion of India market. Our revenue from the online Indian market increased 25% in 2015. Through the trade show, we can expand our co-operation with the large number of Tour Operator/DMC in India. We optimistic the developing of India markets in the next coming year.
Mr. Ha also added more: “India is a Nation with the expense ranking the fourth in the world during their travel. We mainly focus to target on the high- end segment in India. Which bring to our clients more experiential value, we ensure that our customers will get pleasure with our new products which we are going to launch for our next trade show at SATTE (29th – 31st January), in India 2016”.
India is considered as one of the potential markets with 1.27 billion inhabitants. Every year, the number of Indian travelers increasing and there are around 20 million tourists who travel abroad from this destination. It is expected that it will increase by 50 million tourists in 2020 and to spend around 91, 2 billion US$ in 2030. Tourists’ trend to choose their tailor made holiday in Vietnam with some culture and shopping activities.
