Viking Cruises Six Month Countdown To Australian Arrival

August 8, 2017 Cruise No Comments Email Email

Viking Cruises’ newest ocean ship, Viking Sun, heads to Australia for the first time in February 2018, marking the brand’s debut in Australian and New Zealand waters.

The sold out Viking World Cruise from Miami to London will visit Australia in February 2018, as part of the 141 day cruise covering five continents, 35 countries and 66 ports. The cruise will visit seven ports across Australia including Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Whitsunday Islands, Cairns, ThursdayIsland and Darwin before heading to Asia.

Viking will also begin homeporting out of Australia and New Zealand in December 2018 on a brand new itinerary that will see Viking Spirit, the fifth ship to join the fleet in July 2018, spend three months of the year cruising between Sydney and Auckland. A second itinerary launching in November 2018 explores the Komodo and Australian Coast from Bali to Sydney over 17-days visiting the Great Barrier Reef’s Whitsundays, Brisbane’s picturesque coastline, as well as Darwin, Townsville and Newcastle.

Michelle Black, Managing Director Viking Cruises Australia and New Zealand said: “We are thrilled to be bringing our ocean ships to Australia for the first time next year, and can’t wait to showcase to the industry our award-winning product.

“Until now, to experience what Viking’s ocean product has to offer it meant a trip to Europe so this really is a fantastic marketing opportunity for us, and during a time of growth within the industry.”
