Viking Launches New Alaska Cruise Extensions Including Canadian Rockies

October 24, 2017 Cruise No Comments Email Email

Viking Cruises has announced a further two new cruise extensions to its popular Alaska & the Inside Passage ocean itinerary. The two longer extensions include the 8-day Canadian Rockies and the 7-day Pristine Alaska.

The Canadian Rockies lets guests discover the natural beauty of the majestic mountains, stunning glacier-fed lakes and vibrant communities of the Canadian Rockies. Discover the spectacular terrain of Banff National Park, and in Jasper, marvel at the dramatic canyon walls, waterfalls and lush forest of Johnston Canyon. Spot deer, bighorn sheep, mountain goats and bears before exploring the history and local culture of Vancouver.

On the Pristine Alaska, a tram ride takes guests to the summit of Mt. Alyeska and stops in Anchorage for a brief city tour of its historic downtown en route to Talkeetna.  On a jet boat into the wilderness, they learn about the majestic rivers and the lives of the earliest settlers. Flightseeing, fishing, hiking or learning about mushing while meeting some friendly puppies are available options. Deep into the Denali National Park, learn about some of the park’s residents – moose, caribou, Dall sheep and more. In Fairbanks, meet the locals, who will share their heritage through traditional stories.

“We recently launched our shorter 3-day Anchorage extension and the 6-day Denali Explorer with Anchorage & Talkeetna extension, and we have been overwhelmed by their popularity”, says Lubica Sibikova, Product Manager Viking Cruises Australia and New Zealand. “The launch of the longer extensions to Alaska & the Inside Passage ocean itinerary is in response to the wishes of our travel curious guests, who can now discover even more of what these stunning destinations have to offer and enjoy an in-depth Alaska and Canada experience.”

The 11-day Alaska & the Inside Passage cruise from Vancouver to Seward or vice versa, sails between May and August 2019 from $6,695 per person. This ocean cruise features seven guided tours in Canada and the United States’ Alaska. Book before 31 December 2017 and save $1,000 per couple.

Add the 8-day cruise extension Canadian Rockies from $5,339pp, or the 7-day cruise extension Pristine Alaska from $4,939pp.
