Mr. Julian Mengual, CEO and Country Manager of Cigna Insurance together with Mr. Suripong Tantiyanon, Country Manager of Visa Thailand launched “Cigna Travel Insurance” as a special privilege for all Visa Platinum, Visa Signature and Visa Infinite cardholders[1] at The Okura Prestige Hotel Bangkok.

Among the first to popularize travel insurance to Thai customers, Cigna initiated the collaboration from deep understanding of premium segment travelers, who demand nothing short of the most comprehensive protection. According to current data from both Visa and Cigna, appetite for travel is growing among Thais. They love travelling overseas as a way to bond with their loved ones, broaden their experiences, and indulge in food and shopping. Based on this insight, Cigna develops this particular travel insurance package exclusive to Visa Platinum, Visa Signature and Visa Infinite cardholders. This initiative is part of Cigna’s commitment to make insurance accessible to the Thai consumer.

Thai consumers travel in ever increasing volumes overseas every year to mark special occasions and to broaden their experiences, with Japan and Korea amongst the most popular destinations.  With 49% more travel insurance purchasing in 2014 and even more expected in 2015, Cigna wants to ensure that these consumers enjoy their trips and cherish the memories rather than spend time worrying about the potential for flight delays, national disasters and the consequences of unexpected illnesses.  As a result, Cigna wants to provide travelers with complete protection during their trips providing access to high quality medical care, 24 hour worldwide emergency travel assistance and covering medical care expenses in line with our intention to help customers ‘living well.” said, Mr. Julian Mengual, CEO and Country Manager of Cigna Thailand.

Eligible Visa cardholders can easily access this special privilege, offering 3,500,000 baht accidental expense, 2,000,000 baht for medical expense as well as 24-hour worldwide travel assistance service information providing advice and consultation, by registering through Cigna’s dedicated line at 02-763-0022 or sending a SMS to 4535222. This cooperation reflects the intention of both Cigna Insurance and Visa, to continue to deliver strong value, benefits and privileges to meet with the needs of our customer’s and their changing lifestyles.
