Further to advice issued by luxury travel company Abercrombie & Kent in December, the Uzbekistan government has recalled its decision to waive visas for Australian passport holders.http://join.travelmanagers.com.au/ Procedures therefore remain unchanged with travellers advised to begin the visa application process at least three months prior to travel.

Uzbekistan is one of A&K’s newest destinations and has seen rapid growth since its introduction to the portfolio in 2015. Home to the legendary cities of Samarkand and Bukhara, the country offers extraordinary architecture, grand mosques, UNESCO World Heritage sites, breathtaking landscapes and rich handicrafts.

For travellers to Uzbekistan, A&K offers the 8-day private ‘Highlights of Uzbekistan’ from $7,715 per person as well as the 15-day hosted journey ‘Ancient Trade Routes of Central Asia’ which combines Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan for groups of no more than 18 guests.  Two departures are scheduled in 2017 with prices from $11,995 per person.
