Free Shuttle Service to Penang Bon Odori Festival 2014

Date: 19 July 2014

Time: 6pm-11pm

Penang’s most anticipated Japanese cultural  festival is back  this year with exciting games, mouth watering Japanese food, exotic performances and more.

The annual Bon Odori Festival will be happening on the 19 July 2014, from 6pm – 11pm. As usual, the fireworks will start at 10pm sharp.

To reduce congestion during the day , free shuttle service will be provided 6pm-11.30pm at Jalan Lim Chwee Leon to St George’s Church. Members of the public can park their cars at Prangin Mall and the shuttle.

St. Anne’s Novena & Feast 2014

Every year, thousands of Catholic pilgrims from all over Malaysia including others countries such as Singapore and Australia  visit the Church of St Anne, Bukit Mertajam for the St. Anne’s Annual Novena & Feast Day Celebration. It is one of the biggest religious celebrations in Malaysia.

The 10 day Novena brings a carnival-like atmosphere to the town of Bukit Mertajam and the church compound.  The theme for this year’s fest is “Called, Chosen and Sent”

There will be different masses and prayers throughout this 10 days, which is conducted in various languages

Friend of Strings Chamber (FOSC) is a strings chamber forged out of true friendship. Every year, FOSC members bring forth an evening of musical rendezvous along with special invited guests whom are dear old friends. This year, FOSC is bringing their concert out of Klang valley for the very first time, to cherish their love of music, life and friendship with the classical music fans in Penang !

AN EVENING WITH FRIENDS featuring special guests such as classical guitarist Stanley Chin, Penang Philharmonic Orchestra’s conductor Benjamin Ng, and Tarrina Lim, a graduate from Xi’an Conservatory of Music who majored in Yangqin.
