Earth Hour 2014

Date: 29th March 2014.

Earth Hour is a global environmental initiative in partnership with WWF that began in 2007 in Sydney Australia when 2.2 million individuals and more than 2,000 businesses switched off their lights for one hour from 8.30pm, to take a stand against climate change. In 2014, Earth Hour will take place on 29th March

Role of Earth Hour in mitigating climate change Earth Hour is a global environmental initiative that encourages individuals, businesses and governments to show leadership on environmental solutions through their actions, to use Earth Hour as a platform to showcase to the world what measures they are taking to reduce their environmental impact.

Penang Bridge International Marathon 2014 Re-opens Registration

After receiving such wonderful response and hitting the 30,000-participant mark within just a week, the early bird registration was closed on 7 March. The Stage 1 registration is now open at these fees:

Full Marathon – RM80

Half Marathon – RM70

10km Run (Open) – RM60

10km Run (Junior) – RM45

Fun Run – RM25

Penang World Music Festival 2014

Date: 12 & 13 April 2014

Venue: Penang Botanic Gardens, Penang

 This coming 12 & 13 April 2014, enjoy the beautiful rhythms of world music from Malaysia, South Africa, Brazil, Poland, West Africa/Belgium, France/Spain, Bulgaria, Uzbekhistan, China and India at the famed Penang Botanic Gardens.

MOHRAM will be performing at the Penang World Music Festival.  MOHRAM comprises of Muhardiman Ismail @ Mohar, flutist who plays the “Seruling” or Bamboo Flute and traditional percussionist Abdul Ramli Abdul Hamid @ Ramli Rebana who specializes in the Rebana (Membramophone) – the core instruments for Malay traditional music.
