Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island’s (SEC@GI) winter events calendar kicks into gear this week with Australia’s premierlighting event for the international lighting community.
SPARC International Lighting Event 2015 (SPARC 2015) takes place from 27 – 29 May, featuring a stellar line-up of both internationally and nationally renowned experts in lighting design, education, research and architecture.
“SPARC will enable thousands of participants to experience the latest in lighting technology through leading edge lighting exhibitions and will provide a world-class program of invited speakers,” said SPARC CEO Bryan Douglas.
Once again, the event aligns with Vivid Sydney – the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest annual celebration of light, music and ideas – and the decision to host the event at SEC@GI means visitors and exhibitors will have the opportunity to see the festival from a new perspective.
“The complimentary ferry services between Darling Harbour and Glebe Island have become an integral part of the experience of attending an event here at the Centre,” said SEC@GI General Manager Malu Barrios.
“With SPARC 2015’s doors open until 9PM on the first two days of the show, evening ferry patrons can expect dazzling views of the shows and installations lighting up Darling Harbour, Pyrmont and The Star – which is particularly apt given the focus of this exhibition.”
The Centre also advises ferry patrons that due to Vivid events taking place in Darling Harbour, Glebe Island ferry services will operate from Pier 26 Aquarium Wharf opposite the Sydney SEA LIFE Aquarium from 6PM onwards on 27 and 28 May. All other services will operate from Convention Jetty as normal.
Ferry timetables are available on the SPARC website.
Sydney Exhibition Centre @ Glebe Island has been purpose built to provide a fully functioning event space while ICC Sydney, the new exhibition, conference and entertainment complex in Darling Harbour is being developed.
