W Bali, the stylish playground on the legendary beaches of Seminyak, is excited to announce the appointment of Philipp Haupenthal as Director of Beverage & Food, overseeing the operation of the hotel’s award-winning outlets, including the two world-class restaurants, Starfish Bloo and FIRE; Woobar and W Lounge. Carrying an outstanding beverage and food skill set, Philipp joins us from W Koh Samui, Thailand’s most seductive island.

Bringing more than 12 years of hospitality experience, the German born food and beverage enthusiast has worked at an array of prestigious properties. Philipp started his early days in Germany at Mercure Hotel Saarbruecken City; Le Royal Meridien Hamburg, and Dorint Hotel am Heumarkt, Cologne before he decided to move to Thailand. In 2013, he started as Manager Restaurants & Bars at Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort. Two years after, he got transferred to a sister property at The Westin Grande Sukhumvit as a Food & Beverage Manager.

Prior to joining W Bali – Seminyak, he held the position of Director of Beverage & Food at W Koh Samui, where he created the hotel’s own music festival called “Backstage Festival”. Ready to re-create the energetic W scene, beside managing all day-to-day operations, Philipp is in control of ensuring exceptional customer service and as well as understanding the brand’s service culture.
