Queensland’s Sunshine Coast is offering nature lovers the opportunity to combine guided walks in spectacular rainforest with award-winning deluxe accommodation, indulgent spa baths and fine local cuisine.

Small-group guided walk specialists Tropical Treks and Montville’s Narrows Escape Rainforest Retreat have launched a three day Luxe Trekking package that includes a full day guided walk in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, two nights’ accommodation in a rainforest pavilion, gourmet local-produce breakfasts, a dinner in Montville and a BBQ dinner at Narrows.

The multi-award winning Narrows Escape Rainforest Retreat is located near Montville adjacent to the Hinterland Great Walk. Each pavilion is located in the midst of rainforest, offering total privacy and high-quality facilities including king size beds, kitchen, spa bath, lounge room and veranda.

On their first afternoon, guests can be transferred to one of the walks for a short introductory self-guided walk, or they can explore the villages of Montville and Maleny. Dinner on the first night is at a local restaurant, with transfers included.

Day two starts with breakfast in the pavilion followed by a mid-morning departure for the fully-immersive guided walk. The approximately five hours walk includes a healthy picnic lunch and snacks and the day concludes with a BBQ dinner on the veranda of their pavilion.

The serenity and luxury of Narrows Escape Rainforest Retreat

The guided walk is a true sensory experience that takes in the rainforest’s rich array of sights, sounds and smells. Walks take place along sections of the aptly named 58km Hinterland Great Walk, which rambles its way over the peaks and ravines of the Blackall Range, linking several parks and reserves, including Kondalilla National Park, Mapleton Falls National Park and Mapleton Forest Reserve.

The easy walking, well managed trails pass under a subtropical rainforest canopy and through open Eucalypt forests that contain abundant wildlife, including koalas and over 300 tropical bird species.

Day three begins with fresh croissants delivered to the pavilion to complement the local produce provided for a leisurely breakfast before guests explore the beautiful Hinterland villages and landscape.

The package is available for $1600 per couple. Optional spa treatments, either in-house or at local day spas, and transfers to/from Brisbane, Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast airports can be arranged.
