Walter Cho, Chairman and CEO of Korean Air, has been confirmed as SkyTeam Alliance Board Chairman.

The appointment was endorsed today at a meeting of the SkyTeam Alliance Board at COEX Convention Center in Samseong-dong, Seoul. SkyTeam holds its Alliance Board meeting, which is composed of the CEOs of the 19 member airlines, to oversee SkyTeam’s global strategy.
In the changing face of the global aviation industry, the need for proactive actions through strong leadership has grown stronger than ever. Against this backdrop, Walter Cho has been elected as Chairman, ahead of the 20th anniversary of SkyTeam’s foundation in 2020.
As a founding member, Korean Air has been instrumental in shaping SkyTeam over the last 20 years. Walter Cho, will now play an active role, alongside the other members, as SkyTeam grows from an established network to a digitally connected, customer-focused alliance.
