Wanderlust Festival Returns to Great Lake Taupo, New Zealand

Wanderlust, producers of the largest yoga lifestyle events in the world, announce the return of Wanderlust Great Lake Taupo, hosted at Wairakei Resort Taupo. The four-day festival, takes place from February 2 – February 5, 2017 for the third year running in Great Lake Taupo, New Zealand— supported by partners Destination Great Lake Taupo, and Taupo District Council.

Wanderlust Great Lake Taupo will feature an unparalleled lineup of the world’s most sought after yoga teachers, musicians, meditation instructors, speakers, and performing artists. Attendees can practice various styles of yoga at all levels, explore the great outdoors with activities such as hiking, nature walks, paddle-boarding, bungee jumping, and indulge in wine tastings, earth-to-table dinners, and organic delicacies.

YOGA—Practice with the world’s top yoga talent, including one of the biggest international names to grace New Zealand, New York luminary Elena Brower. Also at the top of the lineup is pre-eminent speaker, yoga, and meditation teacher Rod Stryker, and all-round crowd favourite, Californian-come-Vancouverite Eoin Finn—alongside local Australiasian favourites Nikki Ralston, Kat Harding, and Kara-Leah Grant, with more to be added soon —offering a diverse collection of inclusive classes for all levels of experience.

MUSIC—Get down with live performances, and soulful sounds, with our soon-to-bereleased music line-up, featuring a selection of internationally and nationally acclaimed talent that is sure to get you dancing. Our experiences range from DJ-powered yoga classes to acoustic musical meditations to the electric main stage performances. Whatever your taste, you’ll enjoy artists you’ve loved for years and discover your next musical crush.

NATURE—Outdoor enthusiasts of all ages can explore the full range of adventurous activities from stand-up-paddleboarding, explorative hikes, and bungee jumping over New Zealand’s longest river.

SPEAKERS & WORKSHOPS—Immerse yourself in the inspiring ideas of thought-leaders at the Wanderlust Speakeasy. Our intimate and casual lecture series covers topics ranging from holistic health, personal empowerment, to community betterment. Hear more from internationally acclaimed dancer and performer Taane Mete, alongside well-being advocate’s Ben Warren, and zen monk and tea master Wu De.

MEDITATION—Relax and get centred with meditation classes from renowned teachers such as Swami Govindananda. Start the day off with early-morning meditation, and connect to the sights, sounds and smells of the surrounding native landscapes.

DINING—Food lovers will rejoice at the Earth-to-Table Dinner, a one-of-a-kind dining experience created with fresh, locally sourced, organic ingredients. Samplings of local and imported wine, beer, and libations feature as part of Uncorked—a unique post-yoga, and pre-party soiree.

MINDFUL MARKETPLACE— Start your day off by grabbing a coffee, and a bite to eat with friends at Wanderlust’s famed gathering place, the True North Café, presented by TOMS— who will be bringing their eclectic range of ethical eyewear and shoes.
