Hainan, the southernmost tropical province in China, with Xisha, Nansha, Zhongsha Islands and their surrounding sea areas under its jurisdiction, is the largest province in China (in terms of land area and sea area in total).

Best known for its 1823 kilometers of coastline, white and soft beaches, clean and crystal blue waters, warm and pleasant climate, Hainan just received 3 million people (equal to the population of the whole of Nevada in the US) in last Spring Festival holidays, who were here to enjoy pleasure at the seaside.

And now, the increasing numbers of tourists begin to probe into another kind of its beauty, such as the 100,000 hectares rainforest in the middle of Hainan Island, which is one of the well-preserved tropical rainforests on Earth, where people could find a great diversity of unique plants and animals, and its complex landscape also attracts visitors to explore.

Besides, Hainan is the only settlement for Li people, who have inhabited this island since the Neolithic Age, and still use the unique language without characters right now. They still have some special customs including drawing facial tattoo, establishing boar-shaped houses and sewing Tree Bark Clothe, and its spinning, dyeing and embroidery arts were even selected into the intangible cultural heritage list by the UNESCO.

Hainan has already opened the door to the world long ago, and it receives hundreds of thousands of foreign visitors per year. Especially since 2013, Hainan chose ‘China Screen’ at New York’s Time Square to put its promotional video, which made it better known by people around the world.

Those who haven’t been to Hainan, do come and enjoy it!
