Warm up with a world-class winter regional dinner series

Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa in the New South Wales Snowy Mountains is celebrating the food and wine of some of Australia’s finest produce regions with a series of three special dining events in July and August.

 

A Taste of the Southern Highlands – 20 July 2016

The Winter Regional Dinner Series starts with a taste of the Southern Highlands on Wednesday July 20.  The event, hosted by Chef James Viles from Biota Dining in Bowral, features a five-course dinner inspire by winter.  Each course will be matched with wines from the Southern New South Wales region.“Winter is one of my favourite times of the year to cook, it has limited ingredients available, which forces us, as cooks, to be creative,” said Chef Viles.

A Taste of the Capital Region – 3 August 2016

The next event in the Winter Regional Dinner Series, on Wednesday August 3, celebrates the taste of the Capital Region and is hosted by Chef Ben Willis from Aubergine Restaurant Canberra.   The dinner features a magnificent degustation menu inspired by the region around the nation’s capital and will be matched with wines from southern regional New South Wales.

Dual Olympian and World Champion swimmer, mother and media personality Elka Whalan will be the guest speaker at this dinner.  She is a confident, humorous and animated speaker and will the icing on the cake to a spectacular dining event.

A Taste of the Hunter Valley – 17 August 2016

The final in the Winter Regional Dinner Series features a taste of the Hunter Valley on August 17.  Troy Rhoades-Brown from Muse Restaurant will host this special dinner reflecting seasonal Hunter Valley produce showcasing relationships with his local producers and growers.  The five-course menu is complemented with some key Snowy Mountains ingredients and matched with Hunter Valley wines by Tinklers Family Winery.TV and radio presenter, actor and media personality Lochie Daddo is the guest speaker for the final event.  An adventurer at heart, Lochie is right at home in the natural beauty of the landscapes around both the Hunter Valley and Snowy Mountains and his warmth, wit and humour is the perfect way to warm up and close-out the culinary series.
