Waterbom Bali introduces a Refreshed Beach Shack Diner

Waterbom Bali, Asia’s number one premium sustainable waterpark, announces the re-launch of their Caribbean-inspired retro beach shack diner, The Shack, after a two-and-a-half-month complete revamp.

“At Waterbom Bali, we are always looking to immerse our guests in an all-rounded experience – from fun under the sun, to tantalizing their tastebuds with good eats,” said Sayan Gulino, Chief Executive Officer of Waterbom Bali. “We are excited to introduce our refreshed menu of The Shack along with its retro revamp, and we hope to immerse our guests in an allrounded tropical experience, complete with authentic Caribbean flavours.”

Shacking up with Caribbean sugar and spice The Shack is an 80-seater retro beach shack diner offering Caribbean island vibes and flavours. One of three restaurants available at Waterbom Bali, The Shack offers diners a tropical respite and free Wi-Fi!

With a focus on Caribbean-inspired flavours and open-flame cooking over local hard wood, The Shack Grill Pit lets guests choose from a range of chicken, beef, line-caught fish and veggies, all seasoned with Jamaican-inspired Jerk spices and served with mango coleslaw, pickled red onion, lime wedge and smoked salt.

Chomp into the exotic Bom Burger, where the Caribbean-spiced ground beef and pork chorizo patty will take you on an epicurean journey, packed with caramelized onions, charred pineapple salsa, bom ketchup, cilantro aioli and fresh cilantro leaves. Satisfy your seafood cravings with the Maracas Bay “Fish and Bake” Burger, a local fried fish fillet stacked in a savory doughnut bun, served with tamarind sauce, shaved cabbage salad, fresh mint and grilled pineapple relish. Those looking for a healthy veggie fix should try the Bush Doctor, a spiced quinoa beet patty with garlic mushrooms, basil pesto, tomato salsa and mixed salad in a lettuce leaf bun, served with root crisps hand cooked in coconut oil. With its retro rustic chic ambience, The Shack will refresh your mood with a wide range of cool beverages – both alcoholic and non-alcoholic – including cocktails, mocktails, fresh juices and shakes. Guests can draught their own chilled beer at the Beer Depot, a self-service draft beer station where they’ll get to enjoy Bali’s signature Bintang beer exactly the way they like it.

Not a big hophead? Share a liter of the fruity and light Watermelon Mint Cooler, a concoction of vodka, watermelon juice, mint and lime, served in a whole watermelon, or be wowed by the flamed cinnamon of the Fire Margarita.

Sweet disposition Just a few steps away lies the Sugar Shack, Waterbom Bali’s sweet sugar hub. This novelty sweet station is a dessert paradise, serving up a wide variety of giant meringues, cupcakes, doughnuts, cookies, soft serve ice cream, milkshakes and other sweet treats.

The Sugar Shack features a unique Sugar Rush menu with highlights such as the signature Big Mess, a smashed giant meringue with vanilla bean ice cream and tropical fruits, topped with berry sauce, whipped cream and nuts, as well as their Sticky Rice Cupcakes, made with a classic Indonesian fermented black sticky rice (a local alternative to yoghurt to keep the cake moist), topped with coconut whipped cream and a tangerine jelly made from local Kintamani tangerines. Chocolate lovers can enjoy a warm Chocolate Volcano lava cake served with homemade vanilla bean soft serve or blow your mind with a crazy Freak Shake!

Their Liquid Sugar menu also offers a selection of drinkable dessert cocktails and mocktails, including a Strawberry Cheese Cake Martini, the rich and smooth Cookies & Cream, made up of white rum, Oreo cookies, milk and chocolate syrup. For a caffeine kick to complement the sugar rush, the Espresso Martini is packed with orange-infused tequila, chili-infused vodka and Kahlua coffee espresso, perfect for coffee lovers.

An essential pitstop for guests during their Waterbom Bali experience, the Sugar Shack is designed to accommodate children’s parties, bespoke events and activities such as cookie and doughnut decorating, face-painting and even a botanical salon for an eco-friendly makeover!

Funtastic time at Waterbom Bali From 1 September till 15 December 2019, visitors to Waterbom Bali will get to enjoy the Funtastic Package – inclusive of a single day admission, a complimentary Smashdown lunch at any one of the park’s F&B outlets (The Shack, Bali Banana, Thaitalian and the Food Court) and a fresh towel to dry yourself off!

The Funtastic Package is available for adults at IDR400,000 (domestic) and IDR555,000 (international), and kids between the ages two to 11 years old can enjoy the same package at IDR360,000 (domestic) and IDR430,000 (international).
