FRASER ISLAND: Kingfisher Bay Resort has been named Australia’s ‘Best Resort Reception Venue’ at the 10th National Australian Bridal Industry ‘Designer of Dreams’ Awards (ABIA).

A total of 105,120 newlyweds nominated and rated the product, service and value for money of 4,579 wedding businesses, with a subsequent 336 finalists vying for Australia’s most prestigious industry awards.

Kingfisher Bay Resort was the only Queensland finalist in the category, competing against 7 other resort venues from South Australia, New South Wales and Victoria.

Businesses are required to receive high-quality ratings and reviews across 4 consecutive years in order to qualify as a National Finalist or Winner. The esteemed accolade was presented in front of a host of fellow vendors from across the nation at the Star, Gold Coast on August 6th.

Wedding Sales Manager, Bianca Bear has attributed the successful win to incredible efforts and support across all resort departments. “The Events Team have truly gone above and beyond to deliver exceptional experiences for our wedding couples”, she said. “This national accolade rightly recognises their accomplishments, and those of our resort team over the last 12 months”.

Kingfisher Bay Resort has claimed the state title of Queensland’s ‘Best Resort/Reception Venue’ for the past 5 out of 6 years, with their most recent win at the state industry awards last month, in what has been a stellar year for the Fraser Island Events Team.

This was off the back of further local success, having taken out three top honours at the Fraser Coast ‘Bride’s Choice Awards’. Kingfisher Bay Resort were nominated in five categories and claimed ‘Best 4.5 Star Wedding Venue’, ‘Best Accommodation’ and most impressively, ‘The Best of the Best’.
