Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa in the New South Wales Snowy Mountains is experiencing a bumper-wedding season.
The resort hosts around 30 weddings each year and Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa general manager Anthony Cleary said romance has filled the air at the resort for the past two months.
“October is one of our most popular months for weddings as there’s usually still snow on the mountain tops in the Kosciusko National Park which makes for the perfect wedding photo backdrop. We’ve also got solid wedding bookings throughout November and into December” he said.
Mr Cleary said midweek weddings were becoming more popular each year.
“Other than the traditional Saturday wedding, we find there are a lot more couples choosing to marry on Sundays and Wednesdays.”
He said there was a trend for extended wedding celebrations including meet and greet functions on the day before the wedding and recovery breakfasts or brunches the day after the nuptials.
“Destination weddings are certainly the trend for 2016. More couples are choosing to have the ceremony, reception, hair, makeup, photographs and accommodation all in one location,” said Mr Cleary.
“Destination weddings can vary in size from the bride and groom and just a few guests through to full-blown extravaganzas with more than 100 guests.”
The most popular months for weddings at Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa are March, October and November.
Top tips for a Snowy Mountains wedding from the experts at Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa:
- Make sure you have an inclement weather alternative -the weather is constantly changing in the mountains and is unpredictable so always good to have an alternative. Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa has a choice of beautiful outdoor locations, but we always offer a wet-weather alternative, just in case.
- Plan where you want your photos taken as there are so many beautiful areas it’s hard to decide and if its planned out in advance, that makes things run that little bit smoother on the big day..
- Book early as the Snowy Mountains and Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa in particular is a popular wedding destination. Lock away your venue, photographer, and celebrant first and then work on the finer details later.
