Sono Brisbane City is a CBD favourite for workers seeking a tranquil lunch-break escape, a quick yet delicious bite to eat, or simply an enjoyable, authentic dining experience.

Now, everyone can enjoy a traditional taste of Japan as Sono’s Queen Street Mall restaurant opens for weekend lunch trade!

Sono Brisbane City is now open seven days for lunch, available from 11.30am – 2.30pm (last orders) daily, so customers may indulge in their favourite sashimi, sushi, noodle or rice dishes and much more, whenever they wish.SonoCityBento-002_emailres

For a delicious and diverse flavour experience, try a Bento Box. Until the end of April, the signature Sono Bento Box is available for just $18 on Saturdays and Sundays – including Japanese favourites such as Salmon Sashimi, Japanese Potato Salad, Steamed Rice and Miso Soup served with your choice of main, from Deep-Fried Crumbed Pork Cutlets to Beef Stir-fried with Yakiniku Sauce, and more.

For more specialist tastes, try the Vegetarian Bento – complete with a selection of tasty tofu, vegetable and soba noodle based dishes, or the Sashimi Bento – using the freshest, top-quality produce.

Sono also has a tempting array of Set Meals, from the Wagyu Steak to the Gyoza and Chicken Kara-age Set, a wide range of Sashimi and Sushi dishes an a la carte selection so diners may sample as many items as their heart (and stomach) desires.

Sono Brisbane City’s menu is in the very skilled hands of new Head Chef, Ryuji san. Ryuji Tomihara was born and trained in Tokyo, Japan.  He has been a chef for over 18 years and joined the Sono Group five years ago.  Before coming to Australia, Ryuji san worked in Ginza Restaurant and Akasaka Restaurant in Tokyo.  Ryuji san was recently promoted from Senior Chef at Sono Portside Wharf to the Head Chef position at Sono City.

So whether you are spending your weekend shopping or taking in the sights in the CBD, drop by Sono Brisbane City for a delicious lunch, to unwind and refuel in the beautiful, serene and traditional surrounds of the city’s leading Japanese restaurant.

Sono has a very rich menu. I would recommend to try Akagai shell clam, very delicious! Don’t forget Sake as well.
