“Welcome to FRA, Welcome to the World” at the ITB Berlin 2014 Travel Trade Exhibition

Frankfurt Airport (FRA) – one of the world`s leading intercontinental aviation hubs – will be exhibiting at the ITB Berlin 2014 International Tourism Exchange from March 5 to March 9.

Attracting about 170,000 visitors (including 110,000 trade visitors) and more than 10,000 exhibitors from 180 countries, ITB Berlin is the world`s largest exhibition for the travel industry – a key meeting place for all business partners in the travel and tourism chain. Among the 180 nations attending, FRA is also pleased to welcome guests from Mexico – the official partner country at this year`s ITB Berlin.

Visitors to ITB 2014 are cordially invited to stop by at Frankfurt Airport`s stand 101 located at the Hessen pavilion in Hall 7.2c.Candi Beach Cottages Tourism specialists will be able to learn more about the FRA global hub, which offers the most extensive network in the air and on the ground. Under the motto “Welcome to FRA, Welcome to the World,” the FRA stand highlights the international flair of Frankfurt Airport City and its huge route network – comprising more than 100 airlines flying to about 300 destinations in some 100 countries. With nearly 400 regional, national and international trains departing the airport daily, FRA is renowned as one of the best connected air-rail travel ports.

Fraport AG (the owner and manager of Frankfurt Airport) continues to enhance the FRA travel experience with its innovative “Great to Have You Here!” quality service program launched several years ago – to introduce a wide range of improvements for making departing, arriving and transferring even more pleasant for passengers at Germany`s largest aviation hub. In 2013, Frankfurt Airport welcomed more than 58 million air passengers.

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is an important element of ITB Berlin, too. Fraport is continuing is already strong commitment to sustainability and social responsibility at Frankfurt Airport. In 2009, FRA became the first airport in the world to achieve certification under the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) program of ACI Europe (Airports Council International Europe). Thanks to the trendsetting role of FRA and other European airports, the ACA program has since grown to 78 certified airports in Europe, accounting for some 60 percent of Europe`s passenger traffic. For the seventh consecutive year, Fraport has again received a listing in the latest Sustainability Yearbook 2014 -regarded as the world`s most comprehensive publication on corporate sustainability performance.
