ASIAN experts Wendy Wu Tours have just released a new brochure highlighting the benefits of winter holidays in China, special family-friendly packages and some special deals for celebrating the 2014 Year of the Horse Chinese New Year in Shanghai next January and February.

Managing director Alan Alcock said that the brochure followed consumer requests for tours departing in school holidays, as well as those that coincide with Chinese New Year late in January.

He added that crisp, clear winter days were common in many parts of China and provided a great opportunity to visit the most popular sites at leisure, without the pressure of peak period crowds.

Mr Alcock, said, “Such times were ideal for family touring so Wendy Wu Tours have prepared some specially designed itineraries to include ‘kid-friendly and fun-filled ’experiences such as learning the art of the Chinese yo-yo, cycling along the ancient city wall in Xian, visiting giant pandas at Chengdu, build and fly traditional kites in Beijing, sculpt a Terracotta Warrior or take a Chinese calligraphy class.”

“There will be two programmes available which are both fully inclusive with prices covering air travel, accommodation, meals, sightseeing and other inclusions. Both programmes can be also done as a private tour on a variety of dates.”

The nine-day Chinese New Year package takes in Beijing, Xian and Shanghai and costs from $2675, includes return air fares from major selected Australian cities, fuel surcharges and tipping.

The brochure also includes a range of options for packages to Hong Kong and China taking advantage of China’s recent decision to permit visits of up to three days without the need for a tourist visa. For further details call 1300-727-998 or visit
