Wendy Wu Tours, Accor Hotels and Air India present at the AITTC and India Tourism’s second Know India Better seminar
Following the success of the first ever Know India Better seminar in May, the AITTC in conjunction with India Tourism held their second seminar on Tuesday the 28th of July at the India Tourism office in Sydney.
The series of four seminars are designed to provide an intimate space for frontline travel agents to learn more about the destination, transport, accommodation and tours from key speakers.
Travel agents from Helloworld Carlingford, other Helloworld agents, Worldstar Travel, All Tours and Travel, Adventure Honey, First Class Travel, Grace Club Travel, Trans Am Travel and iTravel among others gathered for a taste of authentic Indian food and insightful presentations by Wendy Wu Tours, Accor Hotels and Air India.
Lachlan Burnet, Business Development Executive at Wendy Wu Tours presented the new Simply India Tour, priced at $2,590 including flights and visa, a budget version of the popular fully inclusive group tours with guides handpicked by Wendy Wu herself.
Marie Anderson of Air India, one of the youngest fleets and the latest aircraft to join Star Alliance, offering direct flights from Sydney and Melbourne to Delhi, revealed new flight destinations Barcelona and Copenhagen are on the cards for next year from India, while Kate Clifton of Accor Hotels announced an exciting addition to their portfolio of 3,700 hotels worldwide, with a new Pullman hotel to open in Delhi, which will be the first ever Pullman in India.
Vibhava Tripathi, Director of India Tourism in Sydney, commented on the remarkable 10% annual growth of the India and Australian tourism market, with 240,000 tourists travelling from Australia to India in 2014 alone.
A minute’s silence was held for Dr Abdul Kalam, former President of India, who passed away on Monday the 27th of July at the age of 83.
