Asia specialist Wendy Wu Tours is pleased to announce the global partnership of Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), joining
as an Executive Partner.

Wendy Wu Tours offers an extensive selection of Cruise Extension products, opening up huge opportunities for travel agents to grow their commissions and better service their clients with additional land touring at the start or end of their cruise.

Managing Director Australia & New Zealand, Andrew Mulholland, said: “We’re excited to start our relationship with CLIA, and through the organisation, open up a world of touring opportunities to cruise specialists across Australia. Adding on land to the start or end of a cruise itinerary is a terrific way for travel agents to grow their business into new markets. Given our buying power, we have the
ability to offer, cost and hold allocations of pre/post land components up to 2 years in advance. We have a dedicated team of special groups experts ready to assist with pre-packaged arrangements or we are able to customise based on the groups specific needs.”

Wendy Wu Tours Cruise Extensions in China cover the key inland sights that cruise guests typically miss on a coastal itinerary. “Many of our clients tell us that they simply can’t come all the way to China and not see the Terracotta Warriors.” said Wendy Wu Tours Head of Product, Bernadette Holmes. “Our Cruise Extension product meets this need, hitting all of those inland routes”

Highlights include:
China
– Beijing: See the city in depth, including the Great Wall of China, Temple of Heaven, Summer
Palace – without a long commute from the cruise terminal
– Xian: The Terracotta Warriors, the Ancient City Wall and the Muslim Quarter
– Chengdu: Visit the Giant Pandas, the Shu Brocade Embroidery Museum and the Leshan
Buddha

For other key cruise cities of embarkation or disembarkation, Wendy Wu Tours offers immersive short extension itineraries, which travel agents can easily add to their cruise client’s booking –increasing both the client’s enjoyment, and their own commissions. “Cruise Extensions are an easy

sell for travel agents, and give travellers the time and space to really become absorbed in some of
Asia’s most charming cities” says Bernadette. The range includes:
Japan
– 4 day Tokyo Cruise Extension
– 4 day Kyoto Cruise Extension
– 7 day Explore Japan Cruise Extension
Hong Kong
– 3 day Hong Kong Glimpses Cruise Extension
– 4 day Hong Kong in Focus Cruise Extension
Singapore
– 3 day Singapore Cruise Extension
– 3 day Gardens by the Bay Cruise Extension

In addition, Wendy Wu Tours offers a selection of Asia River Cruising product, across key tributaries including the Irrawaddy, Yangtze and the Mekong – both seamless escorted cruising product, and shorter cruise lengths as part of a comprehensive land tour.

“Recognising that our customers have a love of cruising, we’re delighted to offer a full suite of product to both new and returning guests” says Bernadette. “Combining cruise and land together, or even adding rail, gives travellers a depth of experience that a solus cruise experience is unable to provide in isolation. Those tiny hilltribe villages, inland mountains and ancient cities can only be
accessed by land, but by combining high quality land touring with a cruise element, our guests get the best of both worlds.”
