The, reintroduction of daily Qantas flights from Sydney to Beijing provides a wealth of new opportunities for consumers and agents alike, that will certainly boost tourist numbers according to Andrew Mulholland, Australian general manager of Australia’s largest China operator Wendy Wu Tours.

Tourist arrivals for China have already been tipped to grow by five percent in the 2016-2017season, with the regular announcements of additional airline capacity now turning to China, Mulholland believes five percent growth is conservative.

Mr Mulholland said, “China is already on the radar for a number of consumers in Australia, the cultural immersion, the touring plus cruising options, and the undeniable excitement that pervades China is certainly infectious at the moment.  We are thrilled that the national carrier Qantas is joining the party.”

The company is seeing continued interest for its tour operations, and a growing demand for tailor made packages.  These tailor made packages can follow tour itineraries, travelling in a private car, with a guide.  The operator has also had to speed up the release of the deluxe program, which will be on agency shelves at the end of October.

He adds, “We are working with our agency partners to equip consultants with better destination knowledge, when its broken down China is as easy to sell as any of the major Australian destinations, its iconic, has great transportation infrastructure and we make touring through China easy for our agents and customers.”
