Adaptability and innovation have seen Western Australia’s Sandalford Wines win multiple accolades – and a swag of new business clients – in a milestone year for the company.

Following their national award for Best Wedding Caterer in the Savour Australia R&C Hostplus Awards, Sandalford Wines won Gold awards in the Western Australian Tourism Awards for Tourism Winery, Tourism Restaurants & Catering as well as the significant category of Chinese Tourism.

At the State’s recent Gold Plate Awards, Sandalford won Best Tourism Restaurant and received the Prix D’Honneur Award for winning Best Restaurant in a Winery for four consecutive years.

Ms Jenny Hvalgaard, Functions Sales Manager at Sandalford’s Swan Valley winery, said the company had booked solid new business in the last quarter of 2016, aided by the awareness created by the multiple awards and strong word-of-mouth from their very diverse clientele.

“We continually evolve, improve and invest in our Swan Valley assets, whether they be our people, our products or our events processes.  Catering to special dietary requirements – whether for health or religious regions – has been a special focus for Sandalford and we’ve seen a resulting increase in bookings for Kosher, Halal and Vegan.  Mainly, our past clients recommend us through their networks,” she said.

Interstate bookings for corporate events have also increased during 2016, which marks the 25 year anniversary of the Prendiville Group’s acquisition of the business.

“Our view is to remain flexible as it allows Sandalford to completely shift our focus to accommodate market demands, pricing and our competition,” said Ms Hvalgaard.

Sandalford Wines hosted an est. 30,000 Chinese-speaking international and domestic visitors last year at their Swan Valley winery which is located 25 minutes drive from Perth’s central business district (CBD).

“We offer Union Pay (Chinese bank credit card), printed and online Chinese translated collateral, employ seven Chinese speaking staff, we are work closely with over 35 Chinese inbound agents,” said Ms Hvalgaard.
