AFTA is pleased to confirm that the Chief Executive Jayson Westbury will join the Board of Directors of Tourism Training Australia (TTA) with immediate effect.

TTA is the legacy organisation of the late Bill Galvin OAM and many within the travel and tourism industry have come together over the past year to ensure that his legacy is celebrated and continued.

“I am honoured to join the board of TTA to help build on the foundation work and strategies put in place by the late Bill Galvin OAM and support the organisation as it prepares strategies for the future and ensure the right environment for skills and education are in place for our industry” said Jayson Westbury, AFTA Chief Executive.

“My connection to Bill Galvin goes back decades and having had the privilege of being trained by him when I was a student of Hospitality at the Ryde TAFE college all those years ago. To be able to now contribute to his life’s work by being a part of the TTA board is a feeling of the circle of life and I am humbled by the opportunity” Westbury said.

TTA remains the peak body that works with a broad range of stakeholders to ensure skills and education takes the right path for the Travel, Tourism and Hospitality industries.

“We are really pleased that Jayson is joining the TTA Board, he brings real-life experience, broad industry knowledge and global thinking to our future strategies,” said John Hart, Chair of Tourism Training Australia.
