Guests on Abercrombie & Kent’s recent Arctic Cruise Adventure were treated to a visit to the newly re-opened Húsavík Whale Museum in northern Iceland, which now features a new blue whale exhibit funded by AKP.

The new exhibit completes the museum’s goal to house a skeleton of every known species of marine mammal. The group took part in a ceremony in which A&K’s Expedition Leader presented the museum’s curator with a cheque for US$7,000 to continue AKP’s support of the blue whale exhibit. This is the fourth year running that AKP has donated funds, which now total in excess of US$50,000.

The charming town of Húsavík is the whale capital of Iceland with abundant populations of harbour, humpback and minke whale plus white-beaked dolphin and harbour porpoise.
