Snow’s perfect state, Colorado, experienced its first big snow of the season on October 8th. The pow has continued to fall into November, urging early openings for several ski resorts.

Breckenridge Ski Resort and Keystone Resort will open for the 2018.19 ski season today – earlier than the scheduled opening this weekend – following up to four feet of snow which fell across Summit County in just the past week.

This news follows the opening of Wolf Creek, Arapahoe Basin and Loveland in October, with further openings next week, including Winter Park on Wednesday, November 14th; Vail and Copper Mountain on November 16th and Purgatory on November 17th.

Lifts will open today at 9am in Breckenridge, with the BreckConnect Gondola providing access from town to Peak 8 beginning at 8am. Keystone will start operating the River Run Gondola and the Montezuma Express Chairlift at 9am today and will open North Peak this Friday, November 9th.
