Visit Oakland Launches the Oakland Ale Trial

The launch of the Oakland Ale Trail by Visit Oakland is on February 18, at the East Bay Brewers Festival, hosted at Drake’s Dealership. The Oakland Ale Trail includes 12 breweries, 9 tasting rooms, with an additional 3 tasting rooms opening soon, and will provide visitors with a simple way to explore Oakland craft beer. Participants who use an Ale Trail passport, and visit all of Oakland’s brewery taprooms will earn a free Oakland Ale Trail branded growler. Read More

New Art Exhibition, Star Trek: 50 Artists. 50 Years., Opens at Chabot Space & Science Center

In celebration of Star Trek’s 50th Anniversary, a one-of-a-kind art exhibition will be presented at Chabot Space & Science Center in Oakland from February 3 – 19, 2017.  Curated by CBS Consumer Products, Star Trek: 50 Artists. 50 Years. features Star Trek-inspired works created by 50 different artists from all around the world. The exhibition includes illustrations, photographs, sculptures, paintings, graphics and more. Read More

The African American Museum & Library at Oakland welcomes Barbers, Books, and Bridges for a special community event toward providing multi-cultural literature for youth.
