[New Restaurant – Sydney] Bistecca

Serving only steak as their mains, Bistecca gets customers to ask for their steak in weight, at AUD$13 per 100 grams. The meat is carved in front of the hearth and then a waiter presents the cut at the table, tells the price, and then it’s whisked away to be cooked. Sides of slow-cooked white beans, crunchy potatoes or Italian-style ricotta dumplings along with others can be ordered as accompaniments.

[Activities – Sydney] Nomad Launches a Wine School

Since opening in 2013, Nomad has been expanding Sydney’s knowledge about Australian wine. It launched with an Australian-only wine list and followed up with a wine club in 2017. It has now launched wine classes – five-and-a-half-hour guided classes held at China Heights Gallery, above the restaurant, and involves tasting a dozen or so wines semi-blind to demonstrate how geography, climate and the winemaker can impact the result.
