Whisky Dinner at Story Bridge Hotel

Deery’s Restaurant & Smokehouse is proud to present an evening of delicious food and unique beverages with their Whisky Dinner on Wednesday, 11 June.

Starting from 6pm, guests are invited to savour the finest whisky flavours of Scotland by Glenmorangie and Ardbeg, accompanied with an eight-course tasting menu created by Deery’s Restaurant Head Chef, Adam Clements.

Deerys_alcove_restaurant_resizeSourcing its water from the Tarlolgie Springs, a prize watering hole filtering natural rainwater through limestone and sandstone, the Glenmorangie Distillery boasts a mineral-enriched flavour exclusive to their brewed whisky. Providing a unique tasting experience, Glenmorangie whisky combines a skilful brewing technique in which the tallest stills and highest quality oak casks are used to mature a smooth, pure and elegant whisky. Samples for the evening include a selection of limited-release products such as the fruity Nectar d’Or and Companta, and the rich, velvety chocolate infusions in Lasanta and Quinta Rubin.

Owned by the Glenmorangie Company, Ardbeg Distillery is known for producing the Ultimate Islay Single Malt Whisky, surrounded by a picturesque country landscape with seaside views. Perfectly balanced with a smoky flavouring, Ardbeg Whisky differs from other vartieties with its non-chill filtered, 46% strength; creating a full bodied taste for whisky enthusiasts. Deery’s Restaurant & Smokehouse will offer a select sample of Ardbeg Whiskies for tasting, including 10 Years Old; Corryvrecken; Uigeadail and Auriverdes.

Along with the finest selection of whiskies, guests will indulge in an eight-course tasting menu with gourmet combinations designed to enhance each whisky. Start the evening with the Whipped smoked ricotta, brioche crouton, jamon, grape reduction and house made pork scratchings with orange salt; before progressing to a hearty Smoked duck and shitake pie, shaved fennel and cherry reduction.

Some other highlights from the menu include Roast spatchcock ballontine, spring onion and miso centre with edamame beans and yuzu; and Local caught spanner crab and celeriac remoulade, fennel seed bark with black caviar.

Finish the delectable menu on a sweet high, with the Salted caramel and chocolate bark, orange blossom cream with waffle crumbs.
