White Jackets Off! Giordano Faggioli Appointed F&B Director

RIMBA Jimbaran Bali, another unique product of AYANA Resort and Spa, is appointing key management positions ahead of its opening this September.

Giordano Faggioli, previously Executive Chef at AYANA, moves to the pre-opening team for RIMBA in a new role as Director of Food & Beverage.

Giordano joined AYANA in 2010 and elevated the quality of the cuisine throughout the resort, achieving record scores for guest satisfaction. He was instrumental in the achievements of signature restaurant Dava, which was just awarded by the 2012/13 Miele Guide.

Giordano has 20 years’ experience in luxury hotels and restaurants, including Executive Chef positions at St Regis Beijing, and Four Seasons Resorts in Chiang Mai and Sharm El Sheikh Egypt. His expertise and achievements at AYANA have also caught the attention of the global culinary industry, resulting in him being invited to join the expert panel on Italian Cuisine at the World Forum in Parma, Italy,from June 12-15. It is the only Congress in which chefs, restaurateurs and media representatives from over 50 countries gather to review both the achievements and the future of Italian cuisine. The Forum is promoted by the network “itchefs-GVCI” and is supported by prestigious sponsors that play a fundamental role in the export of Italian food and wine.

At RIMBA,Giordano will oversee new dining concepts including:

  • Indonesia’s biggest Chinese restaurant Ah-Yat Abalone Seafood
  • Ultra-chic roof-top bar UNIQUE
  • All-day dining venue, To’ge, which also features an open Bakery serving gourmet pastries, cakes and hand-made chocolates
  • Swim-up Pool Bar as part of the 1 hectare of swimming pools winding around the resort
  • State-of-the-art Cooking School with organic vegetable garden

Under the same management of Capella Hotel Group, RIMBA Jimbaran Bali will open in September 2013 with 297 rooms and suites to expand on AYANA’s 368 rooms and villas. The 8 hectare resort is locatedwithin AYANA’s 77-hectare grounds overlooking Jimbaran Bay, just 12 kilometers from Bali’s airport, making it the perfect sanctuary for a relaxing break and a base from which to explore Bali and nearby attractions.
