Wild Bush Luxury, owner operator of some of Australia’s most inspirational bush and wildlife experiences, has unveiled a brand new helicopter series at its Arkaba property, inviting guests to enjoy the beauty and form of South Australia’s ancient Flinders Ranges from a unique vantage point and in spectacular style.The new helicopter experiences allow guests to leave the civilisation of the homestead behind, while they soar over Arkaba’s high country, witnessing the breathtaking views from above. Adventure seekers will enjoy the Heli-Hike along the Elder Range, while those who prefer to relax can opt for the Heli-Sundowner and take in the natural beauty of Ikara-Flinders Ranges with a glass of bubbles in hand. For a taste of exclusive luxury, guests can enjoy Australia’s captivating outback overnight with a wine fireside and dinner under the stars on the private Heli-Swag experience.

Wild Bush Luxury’s founder, Charles Carlow, said that the new helicopter series was introduced at Arkaba to heighten the guest experience, allowing them to appreciate the wonder and magic of the Flinders Ranges from a different perspective.

Heli-Sundowner Experience
On this stunning 15 minute scenic helicopter flight, guests will marvel at exquisite geology and the everchanging
palette of the Ikara-Flinders Ranges, where they will be treated to views of Wilpena Pound, the Chace Range to the east and Elder Range to the west – a complete 360 degree panorama of natural beauty. Landing on a remote ridge top, only accessible by helicopter, guests will toast to the last light of the day with a glass of bubble in hand and a picnic canape platter. Upon returning to the homestead as the light starts to fade, the group will sit down to a bush-inspired three course dinner.

$600 per person operating with a minimum 2, maximum 5 guests. This is a 1.5 hour experience with 30 minutes of flying time.

Heli-Swag Experience
Guests will depart the homestead in the early afternoon for a scenic 30 minute flight over Arkaba’s 60,000 acre private wildlife conservancy, allowing them to take in the raw, natural beauty of Australia’s outback.

Soaring over the incredible natural amphitheater of Wilpena Pound, the 1060m high peak of Mount Aleck and the Elder range, this experience is not one to be missed. The helicopter will land at the exclusive swag camp, where guests will be treated to a full bush dinner served under the stars, before retiring to the cosy swag for a night under the Milky Way. The next day, guests will be awoken by the incredible sunrise before returning to the homestead via a two-hour safari drive to witness the best of the morning wildlife, followed by a beautiful brunch back at Arkaba Homestead.

$1,500 per person for guests 1-3 in a group and $1,200 per person for guests 4-10 in the same group operating with a minimum of 2, maximum of 10 guests. This is an overnight experience with 30 minutes
of flying time.

Heli-Hike Experience
After a chef prepared breakfast at the homestead, guests will take off in luxury style for a soaring 30 minute scenic helicopter flight up into the reaches of the Elder range, touching down mid-way up the range. Those looking for a bit more adventure can take on a two hour climb through the mauve and fiery orange range before reaching the summit of Mount Aleck – the highest point in the Elder Range. Following the climb, the group can sit back, relax and take it all in with a packed lunch at the summit, where they can enjoy uninterrupted views out to Lake Torrens in the west and panorama of Arkaba and Wilpena Pound. Upon returning back to the homestead by car, guests can enjoy a well-deserved glass of South Australian wine and canapes before dinner.

$800 per person operating with a minimum 2, maximum 10 guests. This is a full day experience with 30
minutes of flying time.

Just five hours drive (or a one-hour charter flight) from Adelaide via South Australia’s wine regions, Arkaba is a private wildlife conservancy and one of Australia’s most accessible outback experiences. Individual rooms at the Arkaba Homestead costs $990 per person per night twin share, with a minimum stay of two nights. Rates are inclusive of chef prepared meals, beverages and privately guided activities on the property (4WD safaris, wildlife viewing, daily guiding).
