The event, to be held on 31 October from 11.45am until 12.45pm, will feature Kylie Ball, Development Programme Director, Luke Mangan as the lead panelist.

With more than 21 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, students at William Blue College of Hospitality Management will benefit from Ms Ball’s phenomenal expertise in virtually every aspect of working in, and running a fine dining restaurant.

Kylie’s passion for hospitality emerged after starting out at McDonald’s and a stint on Hamilton Island. Career highlights along the way include working at 2-hatted restaurant Mezzaluna, nine years with the iconic 3-hatted Quay restaurant, a General Manager role with Bennelong at the Sydney Opera House and consultancy roles with Tourism Australia, including the internationally acclaimed Chefs’ Feast Dinner.

Today, Kylie is Director of Program Development with Luke Mangan, giving back to the industry through a program created to inspire, educate, train and mentor people to enter, and progress, within the hospitality industry.

“William Blue College of Hospitality Management at Torrens University places significant emphasis on the value and importance of partnerships with industry leaders, such as Kylie,” said Mr Jerome Casteigt, General Manager – Hospitality, Laureate Australia.

“The Culinary Speaker Series is a terrific opportunity for William Blue students to gain authentic exposure to industry leaders on a regular basis. The CSS further extends the industry immersion dimension of William Blue programs for our students, giving them greater access to networking and employment opportunities upon graduation,” added Mr Casteigt.

As lead panelist, Ms Ball will discuss her personal career experience as well as current trends within the culinary sector, while providing an open Q&A forum, giving students the chance to gain greater insight into potential future career directions from someone successfully working in the field.

The CSS is an ongoing event for William Blue College of Hospitality Management at Torrens University, bringing leaders from the industry onto campus where students can listen, learn and ask questions in a casual atmosphere. Students studying Culinary Management, Hospitality Management and Tourism Management attend the event.

The event will be held on Level 3, 1-5 Hickson Road, The Rocks.
