Remarkable wines savoured for their own sake and paired with inspired cuisine are the stuff of another remarkable wine tasting and fine dining evening at The Reflexions French contemporary restaurant on Thursday, 05 June 2014.

Wine + Dine 2014-06-05From a Piedmontese paradise for vines come the prize-winning wines of Angelo Negro. Wine lovers and gourmands are invited to taste and appraise the pick of the vintages at Glaz Bar, then savour the reds or whites paired with a three-course menu specially created by passionate chef Daniel Bucher and award-winning team, with two choices per course, at The Reflexions. Priced at THB 2,100 net per person the dinner includes a complimentary bottle of wine for two paying guests.

The Negro family has cultivated vineyards on the Roero hills in a particularly blessed corner of Piedmont since 1670. The vines are grown around historical farmhouses across 60 hectares where the sun shines at its most benevolent. From hill to hill, different soils and microclimates originate well-defined bouquets and flavours in the wines.

The evening starts with a tasting of: sparkling Moscato d’ Asti Spumante; Onorata Favorita Langhe 2012; Serra Lupini Roero Arneis 2012; Cescu Langhe Dolcetto; Barbera Dina 2010/2012; Cascinotta Barbaresco, and; Sudisfa’ Roero 2004.

Chef Daniel’s typically forward-looking menu begins with an appetizer choice of Roasted baby potatoes baked with goat cheese, red onions and almonds Or Cream soup of curried fennel, pig trotter, garlic and parsley. Main courses offer Rainbow trout with pine nuts, salted lemon and chard Or Slow cooked lamb loin with carrot and orange. And the evening’s sophisticated entertainment moves on to dessert selections of Strawberry mille feuille with vanilla cream Or Deconstructed and smoked black forest gateau.

Accompanying the menu, the white wine selection ranges 2012 Onorata Favorita Langhe, Angelo Negro Winery, Piedmont Italy, while the reds offer 2011 Barbera Dina, Angelo Negro Winery, Piedmont Italy.

Advance dinner bookings are recommended.
