“You must have come out with new skills, experiences and friendships. You have been able to stand public pressures and criticism,” she said.

Miss Naiken described the negative comments about the contestants made on social media were very harsh and inhumane.

Do not let these negative comments get to you. You are all beautiful and courageous Seychellois ladies. Be proud of having joined the journey, she added.

This is Seychelles” the Minister said.

“We need to realise that each and every one of us counts, everyone has dignity and this we should respect. We are all equal and we should all be treated equally” Minister Alain St.Ange added.

To the 12 contestants Minister St.Ange said:- “You are all winners as you have been able to come forward, unlike those who sit at home to critise will never win anything” he said before adding that the Tourism Board continues to count on the private sector trade, the airlines partners and the business community to keep working with together for Seychelles so that we can make our Miss Seychelles…another world 2016 an ambassador of our country.
