America’s wild west has pulled on our imaginations ever since Hollywood made the cowboy a hero and Wild West scenery the most fantastic backdrop to some of the best action films ever made. And the true wilderness is still there today, ‘though western USA is so vast, meticulous planning is needed to make the most of any experience. For over 30 years Grand American Adventures, the North America specialists, has been doing just that, providing small groups of travellers with unforgettable, off the beaten track, wilderness experiences of the real wild west.

Grand American Adventures recently launched seven new ‘In-Depth’ experiences for 2018, a mesmerising mix of adventures that unearth western USA’s natural wonders. Each tour includes authentic, upscale accommodation from ranches and national park lodges to yurts, wigwams and cabins. Three of these new tours feature the real Wild West, carefully planned to show visitors places they might not otherwise discover, showcasing iconic locations and world-famous frontier landmarks. Each departure combines with a city or coastal break and non-stop flights from Sydney to San Francisco with United Airlines or Los Angeles with Qantas.
